When the 'high and mighty' converged at Filmhouse, Lagos for Mama Africa

The belly of the front office area of Filmhouse Cinemas in Surulere, Lagos was stretched to its very limits last Sunday. Practitioners and moviegoers turned out in their numbers for the premiere of Mama Africa, the movie by Norbert Ajeagbu led Ocean Movies Limited and directed by Joe Ubaka. Ajeagbu is also Chairman and leader of the Movie Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria.  Mama Africa is a satire on the state of destitutes in Africa. It turned out a movie rich in morals, adventure, intrigues, suspense and action. It is an expose on the going on in power and how the ruling minority control the lives of the masses, trampling even on their rights to better living condition. Things got so bad for some destitutes trapped in a military camp somewhere in Africa until a selfless human rights activist Nathan (Zack Orji) steps in, gave up his own freedom just so as to save mother Africa. The premiere attracted top government officials including the Director General of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) Mrs. Patricia Bala.
